Local News

Nairobi Governor H.E. Sakaja Johnson was at the groundbreaking ceremony of Mlango Kubwa’s first public Clinic.

The 22.6 million shilling facility, will serve over 2,500 households across Mlango Kubwa ward, Mathare Constituency. The clinic is also expected to have a maternity ward and a theatre.

Very soon we will be opening some additional hospitals to cater for our informal settlements. We are upgrading our various county health facilities, building new hospitals that we shall be opening across the country to ensure that our people have access to healthcare which I believe is the foundation of a sound, healthy, secure and prosperous county,”

said Sakaja

This is just one of the many projects that are underway as the county added each ward representative 23 million shillings for their Ward Development Programs. This facility will be a fully fledged clinic with an operational theatre, maternity and ward wings to serve the people of this ward other adjacent areas”

added Sakaja.

The Mlango Kubwa clinic will be constructed under the Ward Develooment Programme ( WDP). Governor Sakaja increased the allocation of WDP from Ksh17 million to Ksh23 million per ward. This has enabled to drive development in the ward level.
